SMOK Infinix Kit Review

SMOK has been unrestrained in their efforts at entering the pod mod market with the release of 3 different pod mods.

The Rolo Badge, the Fit, and the Infinix. The latter is the device we are looking at today, and I think it might be the pick of the bunch.

It’s powered by a decent internal 250mAH and comes with two refillable pods that have a 2ml capacity.

The Infinix has a familiar smart look to it that should appeal to most vapers and comes in either Blue, Red or Gun Metal.

The Good

Looks sleek and stylish, refillable pods that produce great flavor and a decent battery life.

The Bad

Filling the pods can be a little fiddly, and I wish the spare pod came with a sleeve.

The Infinix is a really impressive refillable pod system. It looks stylish and feels great in the hand. The pods last well, it produces very good flavor and respectable clouds for a pod mod, and it is incredibly affordable.

1Design & Build Quality

My initial reaction to removing the Infinix from the box was one of pleasant surprise.

Mainly because I didn’t expect such a cheap device manufactured by SMOK to actually feel and look this good. I think they’ve really upped their game recently when it comes to overall build quality.

It could be said that the design is nothing original as they have taken plenty of design cues from other popular pod mods on the market, and it shares a remarkable resemblance to the Phix in its form.

However, the color options (Blue, Red and Gun Metal) and even the finish of the paintwork help it stand out from other such devices. The body is smooth with an almost soft to touch finish. It isn’t coated in that lovely soft rubber like the Bo One, but it’s accentuated angular design and finish still make it a delight to hold in the hand.

Also, it has to be mentioned that this is a refillable Pod system, so isn’t in direct competition to those type of closed systems.

SMOK Infinix Kit

There is very little branding on the Infinix and SMOK have managed to keep the design to a nice minimalistic look. The charge port is tucked away on the base of the device, which some may not like. For me, it’s not an issue to charge it laying flat.

Overall it is a slim, lightweight Pod mod that can easily fit in the pocket and has great build quality for the price.

The Pods

SMOK Infinix Kit

The Infinix comes with two 2ml capacity empty pods. Extra pods are sold separately in packs of 3.

Each pod has a small rubber bung on the side, which stays connected to the pod when you pop it out to fill. The fill port is just large enough to accommodate a cubby gorilla tip. However, SMOK also includes a 10ml refill bottle with a needle tip to make it even easier to fill.

It’s probably advisable to use the included bottle or a small tip bottle, so there’s a gap when filling to allow air to escape. I’m not sure how well the spare bottle will hold up when carrying it out and about, but it’s good for them to include it.

The Infinix pods have two small magnets on the center of the base, which connect with two in the internal sleeve of the battery. The pods slide into the battery nice and easy, there’s no snap or click as they connect, but they do fit nice and snug, and you know when they are in properly.

When the pod is in the device, it leaves a small window for you to see your juice level. However, it is a fairly small window and doesn’t show the base of the pod, so you will find yourself removing the pod to double check when you need a refill.

The mouthpiece of the pods matches that of the battery, but it itis slightly more curved making it fit nice and comfortable in the mouth.

Key Features

The SMOK Infinix is powered by a 250mAH internal battery and has a power range between 10 and 16 watts.

As with most pod mods, the battery is activated on inhalation or draw. This means it requires no buttons and is incredibly easy to use.

There are a few safety features with short circuit protection and low voltage protection, and an 8-second cutoff. This means you can only take an 8-second draw, which is a little lower than the usual 10 but I think is fine for this style of vaping.

LED Lights

The SMOK Infinix has a small LED light on the front center of the device which lights up white while you are vaping. It also helps to indicate battery life and protection through a number of flashes:

  • X5 white flashes = 8-second cutout reached
  • X4 flashes = short circuit protection activated
  • X15 flashes = battery needs recharging

Charging

The SMOK Infinix has a micro USB charge port on the base of the device and comes with an included cable.

Having a small 250mAh battery, it also seems to charge pretty quick taking around 25 minutes to charge from dead to full.

I tested the SMOK Infinix with both free base nicotine liquid and Nic Salt e-liquid at 20mg from Juice Sauz UK.

Flavor production and throat hit were great with both; I think the Nic Salt juice was marginally better and that’s really where these types of Pod Mods shine.

The pods had no issues wicking with 60VG liquid, I didn’t get the chance to push it beyond that, but I’d imagine that it might struggle with anything higher in viscosity.

The airflow and cloud production was also really impressive for such a small device.

The airflow is a smooth MTL vape, it’s not the tightest of draws compared to some others on the market, but is definitely a decent MTL and was perfect for me.

The Infinix doesn’t need you to draw really hard for it to trigger, it seems very responsive and fires perfectly as you draw.

I didn’t have any accidental auto-firing, but SMOK do warn that condensation can build up between the battery and the pod after continued use, so it may require a quick wipe to prevent any issues occurring.

The Pods themselves can be a little fiddly to refill, but that’s the case with any small refillable pod.

SMOK Infinix Kit

I managed to refill one pod 7 times before I noticed the flavor really dropping, which was very impressive. That was using an e-liquid that didn’t contain much sweetener, so your experience may differ depending on the juice you use.

I like the fact that SMOK includes two pods in the pack, but I wish they had some type of rubber housing or sleeve for the spare pod, so you could take it out with you as a spare without worrying about juice leaking out.

I’ve been really impressed with the Infinix; it produces good flavor and vapor, looks sleek and is light and pocketable with good battery life. All the things you’d want from a refillable pod mod.

I think the biggest surprise with the Infinix, is not the design, or the impressive vape experience, but actually that SMOK made it.

I really can’t stress enough how impressed I am with the build quality, especially compared to other Pod Mods on the market that are more expensive.

That’s not something you always hear us saying about SMOK.

But they really did a fantastic job with the Infinix. It’s simple to use, easy to refill, with long-lasting pods that produce a great MTL vape.

I’d definitely recommend the Infinix to experienced vapers that want a compact refillable MTL pod mod, or new vapers that don’t want to be spending a fortune to be tied into a closed system.

Overall I think SMOK knocked it out of the park with the Infinix.
